Visual Programming

Unit Information

The aim of this unit is to introduce learners to the concepts and skills required to write a program in a visual programming language. In particular the learner will design, write, test and document a program to meet a given specification. More and more languages are becoming object orientated and a visual environment is a perfect way for the learners to learn this.

This unit presents opportunities to demonstrate key skills in communication, information technology, improving own learning and performance and problem solving.

To achieve this unit a learner must:
  • Plan and design a computer program to meet a given specification

  • Write the program and ensure that it meets the specification

  • Test and modify the program

  • Document the program for users and technical staff.
